Villa Codfarm
Villa Codfarm is a cod fish farm having all its activities concentrated on the Møre coast. The company carries out fish production in the sea. With 6 cod licences the company is a medium-size cod fish farm according to the Norwegian scale. Villa Codfarm has its own fish processing plant located strategically in Misund Municipality. The fish processing plant is equipped for slaughter of cod and has a capacity of 10 000 tonnes each year.Villa Codfarm was formed in 2002 as a spin-off from Villa Leppefisk AS.Villa Codfarm reached a turning point during the winter of 2005, when the company took the important strategic decision to change parts of the production to organic. This was a pioneer project in such an early stage in the development of cod farming. Operating sustainably and in concert with nature is something that lies deeply in the company traditions, and in 2008 all fish farmed by Villa Codfarm is produced by organic standards. The company concentrates on further growth, and work with obtaining more licences is continuously in progress.
